Well, with the release of Soul Calibur IV coming up, and the recent deadness of the forum, I decided to make a topic dedicated to fighting games in general.

So... SCIV should be pretty awesome. Street Fighter IV and Tekken 6 aren't too far away either, and BlazBlue (from the creators of Guilty Gear) is looking more and more awesome as time goes on. There are also rumors of a new Marvel VS. Capcom. Awesome.

Strangely, all the big fighting games are going to the PS3 this gen. Well, SCIV is also on 360 but I'm definitely getting the PS3 version. Because Vader > Yoda (although neither of them belong in SC in the first place) and because the 360's D-Pad is almost unusable.

Also on the topic of fighting games, Last Blade is totally awesome. It's a 2D weapons based fighting game, not available on home consoles. If you're interested both Last Blade and Last Blade 2 are playable on a MAME emulator as long as you have the NeoGeo BIOS ROM.

Finally, Star Gladiator and its sequel Plasma Sword are both great. 3D lightsaber fighting game from Capcom, which I wasted plenty of credits on at Playdium. God I wish Playdium was still around... That place was awesome. But back to Star Gladiator. Both games are playable on a MAME emulator if you want to try them, but there are some graphical problems. It still looks OK, just a little off. Luckily it runs at full speed and everything.

To be honest I don't really like fighting games.
SC is the only one I really liked.

You may think I hate fighting games but there just boring and Generic but SC wasn't really it kept making cool new things and ideas.

If you see what I mean, you'll understand.

Never really enjoyed soul calibur tbh.
I guess it's cus it seemed sorta slow to me.
(Kinda Surprising for someone who plays Tekken)

funny cus I thought the same thing about soul calibur.

How?
SC was it's own... fighting with weapons?
Who came up with it before SC?
If you find a game that came up with it before SC tell me.
Because SC was an arcade game before it moved to Sony/Microsoft.

Where TEKKEN is fighting...
Plus its a boring fighting game...
Same thing all the damn time.

SC trys to put something new in it.
