Episode one of the Penny Arcade game is available now.

Available for Windows, Mac (thank God), Linux, and Xbox Live Arcade, the game (which has been described as "completely and utterly hilarious") can be downloaded for $20 at www.playgreenhouse.com

The site also has 4 intro comics made to set up the story, which was written entirely by Jerry and Michael (Tycho and Gabe).

Currently downloading the demo, and if it's good I'll definitely be picking up a Visa gift card next time I see one so I can grab the full version.

Well, the demo is awesome. I highly recommend you download it if you're a fan of RPGs. After creating my avatar, I was introduced to New Arcadia by the mysterious disembodied voice. Immediately my house was crushed by a giant Fruit Fucker.

Gameplay is pretty basic. Point and click to control your character, and click on things to interact with them. Battle is fairly action packed. Click the attack button and an enemy to attack. You have special attacks that require different types of input. Enemies attack whenever they want (so it's like Active mode in an FF game), and you can press Space to block. Perfect blocks give you a counterattack like in Paper Mario. The rest is pretty basic. Items, a conversation tree, etc.

Graphics are nothing spectacular, and it runs well even on my laptop. Cutscenes look amazing though, and look like they were hand drawn by Gabe himself.

Try it. It was pretty awesome and hilarious.

If available on the PC, post the link pl0x.

Unless it's on the website, then I'll find it.

UPDATED: Found it, played it, loved it. Must buy. MUST BUY!

Seriously though, I wasn't expecting it to be that good. It was hilarious and an incredibly fun RPG at the same time.

Well, it's just as awesome as the demo. I'm only up to Anne-Claire's Room, so I haven't seen anything new, but it's still extremely funny. And this time I actually tested out some of the specials and team attacks. And exploited the Fruit Fucker's wekness. The results were... disturbing... to say the least.

But damn the FFs have a really easy to block attack. I can "get Counterattacks 100% of the time now. Unless they use the juice thing.

And of course the old classic lines:

"See, sometimes, shit happens. And all of a sudden you're like, whoa."

...

"Gabe, what's your job?"

"Punching devils."

"And do you see any devils around here."

"No."

"Exactly. Now be quiet, Daddy's working."

...

"Come rake, let us begin our dark work."

...

"I don't understand the whole logo thing."

"I'll explain. The gear symbolizes the irresponsible force of the modern world, and the eye symbolizes the determination to see through it."

"And the lightning bolt?"

"The lightning bolt symbolizes being awesome!"

...

"Do not dwell on my... mysterious identity.

You're dwelling on it aren't you? I urge you. DO NOT!"

...

Ah, the random humour is so awesomely random.

More hilarity ensued when I met a mime in the game. For some reason one of the options was "Are you going to Scarsborough Fair?" which had nothing to do with anything, so of course I clicked it.

My character ended up saying "Are you going to Scarsborough Fair? Parsley sage, rosemary and mime." Gabe and Tycho both had these huge idiotic grins. It was quite amusing.

Also, there's a dice in your headquarters. If you roill a 20, the Fruit Fucker in the jar explodes.
