OK, just keep going with the story until later in the game.

SPOILERS

Start doing quests after the Black Omen (a crazy looking floating dungeon in the sky) appears in the Ice Age, 600AD, and 1000AD.

There will be a plot event involving Crono which I will not spoil here, but you'll know it when you get to it. Once that event is over and you have nothing else to do in the story besides go to the Black Omen or fight the last boss, that's when you do quests.

Make sure though you put it in the right folder. Make a shortcut to your Gmod folder in your Steam account, makes things a little easier. Take note that not ALL modals work. They also give you cool maps on this site as well.
